Serendipity Open Day

Serendipity are holding an open day on Saturday 25 August 2018 from 10am to 4pm for customers to meet the tutors of their new Autum Workshop programme.  Workshop samples are also on hand to see.  Always a fun day and nice to put names and faces together.

I shall be there as I am teaching a 2 day machine quilting workshop for them in November and December.  I have prepared a little quilt sample book of patterns that the students will be learning using their sewing machines; from meandering to flowers to doodling.  The first class will be demonstrating all the different pattern techniques and getting the students to stitch them out.   Then the students will have a month to practice what they have learnt before coming back in December to start quilting on their actual quilts/projects.

I am also taking with me two pattern folders; one for edge-to-edge (E2E) patterns and the other for block patterns - although it is only a small selection of what is available - for Serendipity to keep on hand.  It will give people an idea of what is available to quilt by longarm quilters; and if someone drops off a quilt for me they will be able to browse the folders to see if there is anything in there that appeals.

I have one quilt that I have put binding on but just need to stitch down the edges ... so I may take that with me too.  Hope to see you there if you are in the local area of Bovey Tracey, Devon.
